bosses son just bought a 79 gl 1000,$500 60 k on od
looks great for 500 badges etc some small rust spots etc

tires(not original) look like still have 1st half of service life or better.we noticed front tires' arrow pointing wrong way,every wear indicator is cross hatched opposite from previous one, dont remember brand name, we couldnt find any direction to the tread.
thoughts, suggestions,ideas all welcome

Some of the older tires weren't directional tread even though they had an arrow.If it is a directional tread(Looks different one way than the other) I would get it flipped around,could make a difference in traction especially wet weather.

I would likely put fresh rubber on it & be knowing it was as safe as possible.

Don't think of the tread as an arrow. On my front tire it looks as if it's rolling backwards, but on the sidewall of the tire is a directional arrow pointing the opposite way. Go with the sidewall arrow. Over the top towards the front of the bike. As in car tires, some manufacturers make goofy looking treads that seemingly should roll one way, but actually go the other way. The sidewall marking is the one that is correct.
