Title: Winter Project...?
Post by eglidegirl on 08/26/07 at 05:42:19

I have to install a sissy bar and rack from an 87 on my S40 and do a turn signal relocation to accommodate larger saddle bags.  So...will be moving the bike into the foryer during the winter so we can do all this work at the same time inside where it's warm.  The Suzi should be much easier to get through the door than the 04 HD Electraglide Full Dresser  :D  That was interesting indeed.

I'd like to get rear turns signals made of chrome instead of plastic.  Can anyone recommend some specific rear turn replacements not made of plastic that would look nice on the 06 S40?  Thinking of creating a mount bracket to attach to the licence plate frame from a chrome bathroom towel rack....(my sweetie is a plumber, so we have lots of spare chrome bars a/tubes around)...

Thanks all.

Looks Great!  Is the lighting bright and visible on those given the smaller size?

they aren't as bright as the OEM signals but I haven't had any problems yet.

Hey AL, when you re-wired did you have to up the fuse amp too?

Seem to recall a thread about how little power the electric system has on this bike and that any changes or additions required more source power.

skatnbnc:
Actually they draw alot less than the stock lights because they are LED. I may have to put in a load equalize because they blink really , really fast. There is alot more about LED lights in the tech section.

You can go to a thermal flasher ($8 or $10 at Autozone). It will blink steady no matter what the load.  Cheaper than a load eq. and you don't loose the advantage of less draw from the led's.
