Title: I Got My Bike!!
Post by msfitnetz on 08/26/07 at 02:41:21

Hey! Thanks everyone as I was searching for a bike.  I found a wonderful used one ready to ride with upgrades already done. I bought a 2006 with 6300miles, windshield/gel seat/backrest/saddlebags AND extended warranty until 2010. When I  bought it was serviced and reinspected by dealer so I have full mechanical history. I rode briefly when purchased but will be riding  this week working on some skills.    ;D

Congratulations! You will have a blast!

Now please tell me you had the brake pads checked or replaced because my Suzi is an 06 with 3700 miles and needed new ones in a really bad way.
(see Holy Brakes Batman thread)

Yes , they checked did everything. It was a great find for me as a really "girl owned" very well documented and taken care of bike. I did my first "on the street" ride to gas station today! What a thrill! I was nervous but went out with very light Sunday AM traffic. No stalls and and got her up to 35mph!  I need a friend to take my picture with it next.

Not only is your bike a hot candy apple red, it has some cool cruiser highway pegs too! Sweeet!  :)

Good that you had it checked out thoroughly before purchase. You will appreciate that as you go along.
Ride safe!

Cool ride, neat dog. Looked at your other photo's too. Noticed right bag pretty close to exhaust, could burn hole or heat up your belongings inside. Also whose cool looking highway pegs are those? I'm looking for some :)

Thank vtail I will check the bag. I think the previous owner told me she ordered from JC whitney.
I learned a great lesson on my ride to the store today.

I parked left a signal lamp on "duh" when I came out would start. SO I thought I drained the battery. I called for assistance since no one had cables and I don't know about "popping the clutch". After 2 hour battery good and thought a starter or electrical issue so due to heat and distance , I called a tow after waiting a guaranteed be there in an hour, I decided to try something. I switched tank from "on" to PRI then tried to start. Whoopee right up no issue. I didn't realize that maybe was cold when I first drove her and needed to run longer so when I went to start after leaving turn lamp on , needed that PRI start?
AT least I canceled tow had a great ride home. I got up to 35 mph!!

I still will get it checked at dealer just to make sure later. But  wasted a whole afternoon waiting sigh. Oh well had a great ride!!  :D
