If the rpm's are low, it will shut off no matter how it's adjusted. A little high is better than too low. Hey Monq, how about adding your country to your profile? It's fun to know. ;D |

No stupid questions - only stupid answers Gas filter is on fuelc0ck inside tank. Adjust idle to 1000-1200 RPM with screw on left side of carburator. Adjust idle mixture on right side of carburator 2-2.5 turns out for best run. ( turn screw right till stop then turn left 2 to 2,5 turns) |

Title: Re: idle mixture Post by verslagen1 on 08/26/07 at 13:58:21 7 turns out doesn't sound good. start at 2 turns out and adjust idle speed to 1000 to 1200. If it doesn't slow down when you change it to 1 turn or 0 turns, then it might be vacuum leak. Or Idle speed is too high still. then try lancers straight and simple carb tune. |
Title: Re: idle mixture Post by monq on 08/26/07 at 14:18:48 i started from 2 (idle was 1000-1500) ....... than 7 turns..and was better....but then i drived abou 1 hour and that repeated......at more acceleration bike started stifle.... i think its waakum leak..now i have to found leak... |

Title: Re: idle mixture Post by verslagen1 on 08/27/07 at 08:52:38 Here's a link to the thread. http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?board=tech;action=display;num=1157720585 At 7 turns out, you're in danger of loosing your idle pilot screw (right hand side). There is a spring that keeps tension on the screw, but more than 3 turns out it may be in contact with the screw. If your engine was running fine up to now, you most likely have dirt in your carborator. A good cleaning may fix the issue. |

Title: Re: idle mixture Post by T-Mack1 on 08/31/07 at 09:17:27 monq, Do you have Vise-Grip pliers? They are a clamping pliers. http://www.irwin.com/irwin/consumer/jhtml/browse.jhtml?catId=IrwinCat100299 If screw is striped, the clamping pliers can be used to loosen screw. "break it free" Also, yes, WD-40. but It will make the screw slippy |
Title: Re: idle mixture Post by monq on 09/01/07 at 12:41:47 i cleaned carb.....checked everything......its ok..... but now its same thing......SOME WERE IS AIR.........i dont know were to find leak... ??? :o |
Title: Re: idle mixture Post by T-Mack1 on 09/01/07 at 14:22:12 Here's a way to find leak. With everything together, start bike and idle it (if you can). Then spray "carburetor cleaner" around the connections. When idle changes, you have found leak. Be cautious, carburetor cleaner is flammable. Engine gets hot! |
