Title: Mounting better solo seat
Post by DanGill on 08/23/07 at 06:29:49

I've searched, and I can't find much on mounting a larger, more comfortable solo seat. Has anyone done this with success? I've seen quite a few bobbers, but I'm not looking for that. I'm looking for something with more padding, and perhaps set a little further back.

My problem with the stock seat seems to be the rise. I'm long-legged, and I tend to push myself back. I'm using an Airvent pad, which helps, but not enough.

I'd like to be able to mount something more like a touring seat. I'm not dead set on a solo, but moving the position back would probably eliminate room for a pillion anyway.

Okay. Thanks. I see the seat set. I'm hoping to find someone who has had experience mounting a better seat. I know lots of folks use the Sportster seat, but from the looks of them, I don't think they are any further back than the stock S40 seat.

Not necessarily further back but wider and more comfortable.

Dr_Jim, I noticed a 60's style seat on the enfield site.  Do you think that would work on the savage?
