Title: How to remove top triple tree Post by theikeman on 08/21/07 at 22:11:49 The top piece of the triple tree on my 96 is pitted so bad I need to remove it to repair or replace it. Has anyone done that and/or can somebody tell me how? Thanks IKE ;D |
Title: Re: How to remove top triple tree Post by T-Mack1 on 08/22/07 at 06:26:09 I don't have service manuall in from of me but on other bikes: 1) remove handle bars & risers. (remember the towel on tank!!) 2) lift front end to remove pressure on dampers (shocks). 3) remove the three nuts. Caution on the nuts above damper as there are o-rings seals there. 4) pop off. Suggest a rubber faced hammer. You may want to look at a parts microfische of the trees & damper assemblies before starting. |
