Title: Sports bike slip-ons?
Post by Hell, Billy on 08/20/07 at 22:57:37

Anybody ever hook up a sports bike slip on? Like a Leo Vince? I have a pal who`s seen races all over Europe and he says, consistantly, the bikes w/ Leo Vince cans come out of the corners and onto the straights a length or two ahead. He says nothing else provides a power boost on the low end like they do.

Hey, maybe it`d look silly, but maybe cool in a street fighter sort of way.

I wonder about volumetric flow, back pressure, etc...would a single can fit for a 650 twin or four be acceptable????

Years ago I wondered the same thing and asked SuperTrapp and their answer was no, the mufflers are completely different between a single and multi cylinder. Not sure I really believe them, maybe the KLR/SR500 member who has built exhausts will read this and respond. Max

Well thanks, Mike....I`m gonna trying calling around, there`s a place called StarCycle that might know something. Hard to find solid advice on exhausts. Most performance mods are aimed at high speed work, and we are looking for more low end grunt...plus less weight, of course.

I`ve heard that most of the cruiser cans actually hurt or offer no real advantage off the line.
