Title: Tank bag Post by DanGill on 08/05/07 at 13:27:35 Anybody have a tank bag that works well on the Savage/S40? I'm looking for something small and magnetic with a clear top for a map. I don't want it to get in the way of the speedo. |

Title: Re: Tank bag Post by drharveys on 08/05/07 at 20:52:44 This photo shows the Chicane tankbag that I use on my BMW. It's held up well and has the map window, but it's just too big for the Savage tank. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e204/drharveys/DSC01904.jpg (That's my bike, my wife and my buddy Charlie. I should have given the camera to Charlie so I could be in the photo, too!) However, I did see this smaller magnetic tank bag at Cycle Gear -- and it was on sale for 40 bucks! It has a hard shell case on top for a cell phone or iPod, but no map window. It does have an expansion gusset to make the main bag about an inch and a half taller, though. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e204/drharveys/DSC02122.jpg Oh, here's a photo with the Chicane bag and me too! That's my daughter with me there. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e204/drharveys/DSC02070.jpg And a photo of the Marsee Bullet bag on the late, lamented Enfield. It has a clear window on top, but is tiny! I have to choose between the glasses case or the camera, but not both at the same timek! http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e204/drharveys/DSC00676.jpg |
