Title: Tank bag
Post by DanGill on 08/05/07 at 13:27:35

Anybody have a tank bag that works well on the Savage/S40? I'm looking for something small and magnetic with a clear top for a map. I don't want it to get in the way of the speedo.

Try www.motorcycle_superstore.com

I just bought one for my S50. They have a lot to choose from with very good prices. Good luck. :D

This photo shows the Chicane tankbag that I use on my BMW.  It's held up well and has the map window, but it's just too big for the Savage tank.

(That's my bike, my wife and my buddy Charlie.  I should have given the camera to Charlie so I could be in the photo, too!)

However, I did see this smaller magnetic tank bag at Cycle Gear -- and it was on sale for 40 bucks!  It has a hard shell case on top for a cell phone or iPod, but no map window.  It does have an expansion gusset to make the main bag about an inch and a half taller, though.

Oh, here's a photo with the Chicane bag and me too!  That's my daughter with me there.

And a photo of the Marsee Bullet bag on the late, lamented Enfield.  It has a clear window on top, but is tiny! I have to choose between the glasses case or the camera, but not both at the same timek!
