Title: Dimensions of White Spacer Post by mark_k on 07/29/07 at 06:51:46 Have noticed that we talk a lot about 1/2 or 1/3 white spacer, but I suspect that a lot of the mod is eyeballing. What are the dimensions of the white spacer unmodified and susequently what would 1/2, 1/3, and 1/4 dimensions be? Also has anyone mic'd the #4 washers and done a comparison to the white spacer? Ie, 1/3 white spacer = ? # of #4 washers. |
Title: Re: Dimensions of White Spacer Post by verslagen1 on 07/29/07 at 07:14:07 Someone said the white spacer was 2.5mm (.100") thick. And the mod is to shave it down to half thickness or use the appropriate number of #4 washers. ;D |
Title: Re: Dimensions of White Spacer Post by serowbot on 07/29/07 at 11:47:59 The stock one is 0.10" thick (measured with a vernier caliper). Usually mods go to a 0.065" = to 2/3's shave. (that's one #4 nylon washer from ace hardware, they come in black or white). I think some people use metal #4 washers and they must be a different thickness, because it seems to take a number of them to make the right thickness. Going from what I've read here. The #4 nylon will give you a perfect 2/3's. |
