Title: Doh!
Post by jkhulon73 on 07/23/07 at 14:22:07

Sometimes, I can do some really stupid stuff. I start out thinking "man, this will work great!" and then seconds later I realise I REALLY screwed up. Like today- I was thinking to myself, Chemtool is a great paint stripper. I'll use it to strip the paint off the face of my speedo so I can repaint it the way I want"

Almost instantly upon inserting the plastic into the B12-the split second the leading edge went into the liquid- I remembered that Chemtool eats some plastics...

I kept hearing Red Foxx  in my head as I quickly tried to get all the chemicals off the plastic...

"You big dummy!"

However, I feel I have redeemed myself through the power of Photoshop and adhesives...

It's been a busy day...

Ford red for the frame and Cat yellow for the swingarm. Why?

Why not?

You fixed that boo boo just fine.Amazing how fast that stuff eats some plastic. When you got the swingarm off, did that area need servicing pretty bad? I have over 15000 on mine & will soon be changing the rear tire, so, if it's time to rip the swing arm off & check the bearings/bushings, whatever, now is the time to find out. It is an 05 model, if that matters.

Setting a bear trap is one thing. Testing it by stompin in it is a whole nuther story.

I can certainly 'one up ya' tonight.

My wife has been dying to ride my Savage.  Tonight, she had a mess of errands to run, one of which was to go to Jo Ann Fabrics for me to get some 1" closed cell high density foam (I am planning on adding padding to my Savage's seat).

All went well.  She rode to the mall, then to the post office, then the gym, only to dump the bike at the end of the driveway.

Her less than 1mph crash broke off the right side the mirror , rear turn signal and saddle bag support. When the saddle bag support failed, it wrenched the fender and broke off a bunch of paint.  She also bent the right side foot peg and got a bunch of soil between the exhaust and the muffler guard.

Oh joy.  Now I have alot of disassembly to do, and the cotton picking rear turn signal is going to cost me close to $70.00.   Today just bites!

it's a 2004.  I need the right rear as well as the right mirror, if you have one of those laying around... (Thanks!)
