Title: Pilot Jet (with holes or without)???
Post by djpennin on 07/18/07 at 13:43:03

I'm having issues with my carb and it not operating correctly.  I may have found out why.

The 52.5 pilot jet i took out has NO air bleed holes (the swiss cheese holes)

the 50.0 pilot jet i put in DOES have air bleed holes.

Question: which type of pilot jet do i need?  With or Without air bleed holes?

(i was told they are not interchangeable)

You can interchange them, the ones with the holes give a little better performance in the lower rpm ranges...at least I think so.
The stock pilot , without bleed holes, are Mikuni # N151.067
The others, with bleed holes, are Mikuni #BS30/96

The numbers for either type are the same ... size 50=size 50

The hole ones act like they are right about 1 size larger ...
37.5 hole ones act like 40 non hole. My guess.
Cool.
