I bought a set of furniture sliders at the dollar store and used the hard foam on them glued to the original foam spacers under the seat.  About 1/4" I'd guess.  I also tapered that hard rubber pad that supports the back of the seat to let the rear bolts line up better.

I used a round stick on rubber foot to build up the center pads. It was about 2.5 inches wide and 1 inch thick. I split it down the middle and put half on each pad where it hits the frame. Used 1 inch long threaded hex shaped couplers that were just big enough to fit over the new i inch longer metric bolts. I didn't trim that rear pad, but I do have to kind of push down on the back of the seat to get the rear bolts in. Be sure any wires at the rear fender or at the sides of the seat at the frame don't get pinched by the pads.

Thanks for the info......will probably use the furniture pads and put enough washers in seat bolts to bring them in line with the tangs welded on the frame.  Hope to use a lot of rubber to cut down more on the vibration.

RIDE SAFE!!

05 S40 pillow top gel seat.
Finished raising seat....#7 stoppers, m6x60 bolts,(used existing rubber mounts with a washer in between). No problem with rear bolt. lowered seat brackets on seat by one washer thickness which put them more in line with tangs welded to frame.  Cut and glued 4 pieces of tractor intertube for the middle rubber seat mounts to sit on.  Thanks for the postings, both in the past and now.

RIDE SAFE!!

Late to repy on the pix's.(Been out of town).....Have not taken any, but it is hard to tell the lift with the sheep skin cover.  Should have a 200 mile round trip this week.  Anxious to see how the butt holds up.

I went to Lowes to get the stoppers and couldn't find them.  Can anyone tell me what department they're in or, even better, a sku number?  Thanks.
