Title: Making the most out of a goof.
Post by Trippah on 06/28/07 at 19:24:58

Hi everyone, loking for your thoughts and suggestions. Broke a stud of the exhaust header..see large heat shield thread for specifics.  Anyway, now that I have to take the top end of the motor off, what mods would you do to make the most of this bad situation.  I am thinking I'd like the camshaft Lancer does, and will need to open up the carb  and exhaust (Well, it as open as it can get right now, I realize :o)  I guess the question is to have it bored out for a larger piston?  I'm not thinking i'd like to increase compression all that much.. So, what mods would you do given the unplanned engine top end job??

Had kinda budgeted $500. for tuneup/ cosmetics (paint job).

I'd helicoil it in place and ride until winter rather than waste a riding day/week/month. Max
