Are the clutch cable and front brake hose generic items that I can get anywhere as I'm putting Ape hangers on and need longer ones of both these ! everything else fits ok.

The brake hose definitely, but not really sure about the clutch cable. I put a brake hose from a sports bike on my thumper when I changed to taller bars. Works fine.

If you need custom cables made specifically for the Savage/S40, made by Barnett Performance Products, drop me a line. I have been working with them for over 2 years and have almost a dozen custom designs they have created for me and assigned specific part numbers in their system for me.
There are throttle cables designed for the 80's model, '95-06 model & the '07 model. Carburetor connections are designed for the stock CV carb, Mikuni VM, Mikuni flat slide, Edelbrock Quicksilver, and Amal carbs.
If you need something different from any of those combinations then that can be customized as well.
