Title: Removing front Signal Brackets
Post by FollyRob on 06/25/07 at 14:31:46

I seem to remember a post on how to get the front turn signal brackets off without taking the forks off. I searched and searched but can't find that post to save my life. How did you guys do it?

mine are still on b/c I'm lazy but:

1) drop the fork, lift them up & off (make sure they're loose b4 you drop the forks)

or

2)  loosen them & pry them apart

or

3) carefully with an angle grinder

cut or break them off. i took the tripple trees off and it was a nightmare, i had to design a tool to put them back together, man it was ugly.

I seem to remember some easy way to break them off without getting an angle grinder anywhere near my forks.

Insert a flat screwdriver and twist.

Then insert a wrecking bar and twist.

Should break then.

Then latch on with your Mountain Gorilla Superpowers and pry it off if it broke over diameter rather than center.

I do believe that's the first time I've ever heard that phrase.
