Title: timing mod?
Post by ado63 on 06/18/07 at 19:55:59

Nice forum folks! My dad just bought himself an 02 Savage. He's 72 years old,and it has been about 15 years since his last bike. I'm pretty excited to see him get one. He's been talking about this for a few years. He is still a pretty sharp rider! Anyway,it seems like the ignition timing could stand to be advanced a few degrees. I am used to working on my Honda ACE 750,and I advanced the timing on it by slotting the holes on the pickup coil. Has anyone tried this on the Savage? I appreciate helpful forums like this one,and I look forward to chatting with you folks from time to time. Thanks! Arnie.

it's fixed on this one with out some serious fooling around - you'll get quit a lot more fun out of a pipe&carb rejet - plus old geezers like me really enjoy a little softer ride like the right model progressive shocks can bring

ado63, I'm looking at doing the ignition mod you suggest at KLX's next oil change.
