Title: Peg Vibration
Post by mavrik on 06/09/07 at 05:32:24

Hello Savages: I'm going on a long haul tomorrow, Yellow Ribbon ride to our military base. Fundraiser for our troops overseas fighting for oil rights.

My right foot peg vibrates like crazy over 55mph

Short of changing it what can I do to stop vibration or at least minimze it?

Thanks

I've noticed a lot of vibration on mine at 65mph.  I remember asking about it a while back.

I think the outcome was that I should ride at a speed other than 65.  I don't recall that any of us had come up with a way to dampen the vibration on it.

That's odd!(vibration at 55 mph). Mine vibrate at 65 mph just like Savage Librarian. The only way I can stop this is either speed up or drop below the point where it vibrates. :-/

In my experience with my Savage, if everything is right there is very little vibration. If yours vibrates at 65, I'd check tire balance as a first step. Make sure all the fasterners that hold the engine in the frame are correctly torqued, Make sure the peg bolts are all tight also and no spacers are missing. It should do that if right. Max

I don't think I have a peg thats any more lively than the other at any speed.  If it vibrates hard at 55 in high, it outa shake just as hard at a lower speed in 4th. If not, then it would be a tire?
