Trying to do this convert as cost effective as possible. So was wanting to know what size chain(in links) 110? 120? So ya'll thats already done this have ya all been the same on links? Does tire size get put into the mix that much? Or am I answering myself when I think no matter the size it mounts in the same place...

I'm wanting to go with the 17/43 set up with my 150/90/15 rear tire.

Any input on this is appreciated....peace

It is all in the tech section. If i remember from when I did it a 17/43 needs 106 or 108 links. check on ebay for the sprockets they can usually be had for cheap. also a good oring chain can be found for around 50-60 bucks.

Tbalam is right, I bought a 530 Oring chain 110 and removed 2 links so 108 was good for me with both 17/43 and 16/43.

On my 1997 with 17/43 sprockets, I needed exactly 106 links.

BTW, now that I've had a chance to fill up, I've logged a 15% increase in MPG. Mind you, this is only 1 tank, but it looks like I'm getting just under 70 MPG on the highway now. I don't expect my in-town MPG to increase any, but we'll see...

I don't think you'll see as much MPG increase with an O-RING chain due to higher friction between the O-RINGS and the side plates. At least, that's what I've experienced in the past...

I musta missed the # of links when I read through the tech section the 1st few times. Thanks for the info ya'll.110 links it is.
