Yes, I put one on my '98 Savage. It's a definite improvement over the stock seat. Sometimes I wish it was slightly wider and a tad further back but most of the time it's just fine. I often ride with a sheepskin pad on it in hot weather since it allows circulation and reduces sweating. I got the S40 seat at Oneida Suzuki (http://www.oneidasuzuki.com/) and the pad at Sheepy Hollow (http://www.sheepyhollow.com/). |
Title: Re: Optional S40 Pillowtop Seat Post by skepticalnewt on 05/18/07 at 14:00:36 The funny part is that I live like 30 miles from Oneida, where Oneida Suzuki is. I'm going to have to drop in there sometime just to check it out. sn |
Title: Re: Optional S40 Pillowtop Seat Post by gde412 on 05/21/07 at 10:39:43 I noticed that the Oneida website says that the seat will not fit the LS650. Did you have to make any modifications? Thanks, Gary |

That's rather stupid on their part considering the S40 IS an LS650. Suzuki changed the name from Savage to S40 but the model number remained the same. In any case, yes - but very minor. A few options are discussed in several threads already and you can do a search or two to find them but the simplest method in my opinion (and what I did) was to remove the metal tab from the back of the seat by drilling out the rivets. Then it fits nicely. |
