What do you guys think about the bridgestone S11 tires. I'm thinking of getting them and would like to know if any one had tried them out? any rubbing? Etc....

http://www.accwhse.com/bridgest.htm#Tires%20street

(06329)     $55.95 Bridgestone S11 100/90H19 Raised White Letters Front Tire Mfg.#: 147125
(05265)     $72.95 Bridgestone S11 140/90H15 Raised White Letters Rear Tire Mfg.#: 147397

Bridgstone shows a 25" diameter 5.8" width, compare with 24.73" and 5.85" for the Dunlop D404 which I have no problem with.  I doubt a eight inch taller radius will rub.

Bridgestone calls them Sport-Touring, WD stated they had pitiful tread life for his bike compared with D404's.  Sounds like a softer rubber for better grip at the cost of reduced mileage.  The Dunlops have enough grip to scrape pegs, not easy to lean further.

I like the white lettering. to bad it has shotty tread life.
  Thanks for the info
What about Pirellis MT66's ?

From same site:
$55.95 Pirelli MT66 100/90H19 Front Tire Mfg.#: 0801000
$68.95 Pirelli MT66 140/90H15 Rear Tire Mfg.#: 0800200
Not enough of a price difference to matter.  Pirelli does not make the as mounted size readily available.  Stated to be a touring tire rather than a sport touring, one would expect to get more miles on in.

How you ride makes a difference on what you get.  If you take to the twisties and keep up with the sport bikes the sport touring would give you an edge on the edge.  For more sedate but higher mileage riding, the touring tire will get your further down the road.

Agrh!  Look at the time!  Go to work, more later.

I put a pair of Metzeler Marathons at slightly under $200 in total a couple of months ago. I have not ridden them much, as you already know.  ???  :P  :-[    :'(    :(

They are great, handle well, and based on comments here, will last long.    8)

Best,

RW

That was what I was about to add when I got interrupted by work (and then my laptop power connection heading South) . . .

Your tires are all basically decent -- some variation in treadlife vs grip vs price but not so much as to make any one brand jump out and say "ME!  ME!"  Name and appearance mean almost as much.   As Luigi said, "these white wall tires, they say look at me, here I am, love me."  Raised white letters proclaim they are somebody, they do not not, again as Luig said, "blend into the pavement."  When you speak of your Pirellis you roll the R....  "Pirrrrrelli."  (From the photo on Pirelli's site, they are also raised white letters, with the ROUTE rather large.)

The Metzeler ME880's are a bit more expensive, but have an excelent reputation.  And have the proper size rear tire:
$90.95 Metzeler ME880 100/90H19 Front Tire Mfg.#: 1040700
$113.95 Metzeler ME880 140/80HB15 Rear Tire Mfg.#: 1042200

In the same price range are your Michelins:
$88.95 Michelin Commander 100/90H19 Tubeless Front Tire Mfg.#: 63821
$118.95 Michelin Commander 140/90H15 Tubeless Rear Tire Mfg.#: 47227

None of the tires are bad.  If you want the 'Stones, go for it.
