Mods! We need help! We're being Spammed!

Clicking on the spam links evidently encourages them or let's them know they're geting hits!

First off I appologize to everyone here having to endure those unwanted posts.

I have removed the TOPICS and deleted the USERS. I have also banned the IP's used to post this crap and blacklisted the email address's and usernames.

This is not to say this won't happen again as it is hard to catch this on the way in. If you see a topic or user posting crap like this again feel free to personally email at me johnh @ vinemaker.com and I will delete the topic / msgs and delete their accounts.

John,

I sincerely thank you. I think I speak (type) for the rest of the memebers of this forum as well. We also understand that this activity can not be completely stopped, and the that the moderators have lives outside of this forum and cannot handle this kind of stuff immediatley 100% of the time. This type of spamming has occured once before since I have been a member, and the moderators handled it promptly as well. Sincere thanks to the moderators as well.

I know if it is unwanted spam to a user then there are laws against this. But to a forum? Any lawyers out there?

Due to the increase in spam I have implemented a new feature.

'Report Msg' is a text link in the upper right hand side of each message. If this link is clicked, I will recieve an email with all the details of the msg. If needed I will delete the msg / topic / user at that time.
