Title: I'll bet that helps the Ol' MPG Post by justin_o_guy on 03/10/07 at 17:52:46 The tab on the float was straight as an arrow. Sittin pretty high I'd say. No wonder my MPG was stinkin so bad. I did manage to mess up reading the callipers. I didn't set the depth gauge un where the gasket goes, but up on the ridge. When I was about to call it done I realized the manual specifies "No Gasket",& that caused me to think. I redid it. This gave me the opportunity to check for the washer under the main jet. Yep, ther's one poked up in there. I won't worry about the petrooster right now, tho I think it has a very small leak. I can smell gas in the vac line & there was some sign of gas on the brass tube sticking out of the carb the vac line goes on, but so little I cant see it as an issue. Well, not today, but soon. |

Come on. I bet that you can smell gas anywhere around that carburetor. Especially after you've opened it up. Do you really want a leak in that hose or what? Seems like you do :P |

Title: Re: I'll bet that helps the Ol' MPG Post by serowbot on 03/10/07 at 20:17:43 A pinhole gasleak in the pethingy's vac diaphragm becomes a gusher once the engine vacuum starts pulling on it. I would check it. |
Title: Re: I'll bet that helps the Ol' MPG Post by justin_o_guy on 03/10/07 at 21:04:28 I decided to be brave & I stuck my mouth straight on the petrooster & sucked it as hard as I could. (Man,that LOOKs so bad in writing. Y'all Shaddup) Anyway, nothing came out. I stuck my tongue on it & held the vacuum for a few seconds & it stayed so I am calling it good. |
