Title: riser spacer for drag bars
Post by amcline on 03/03/07 at 19:30:35

hey guys, just wanted to update, with the install of my 4" pullback drag bars (25" or so) the stock mounts let the controls hit the tank, so i got 2" longer grade8 bolts, and hardware, used a 3/8 by 1.5" steel spacer and a 3/4" by 1.5" chrome spacer (for looks) and some rubber washers to prevent any chatter, rises it just enough to clear, and cost les then 20 bux all from home depot, the link to pics is:

will post them now.
the alternative was 6" riser for 30 bux, wich were not chrome so i went this way for my taste of low and chrome. a 2" spacers would clear better but i didnt want to stack or anything. and 1.5" was all this HDepot had...

Cool job amcline!  8) Read somewhere of someone using deep-well sockets as you did with the spacers to pop the stock pull-back bar clamps up higher for the drag bar mod ...

thats a good idea actually, i may look around if i can find some a little taller, i have another 1/2" worth of bolt, and the xtra 1/2" would make clearing the tank a bit better,
