Maybe if it was laid back more, closer to matching the fork angle. JMO

Jim, you can go to most welding shops and have them cut and weld a sissy bar for you. Its just 5/8 inch square stock. I had my stock sissy bar cut down til its just a grab bar for only $25. But they will make it any heighth and shape you want.. I agree, its too tall for the bike. nice lookin bike tho!

I like that sissy bar a lot.  I also like a simple grab bar.  I don't like the Savage's stock version of a sissy bar.

Actually, it's at a pretty good angle for strapping my T-Bags to.

How did that rake job effect handling?

I am not very artistic so I waited till you had a few opinions before I tossed mine out. It seems I will be going against the crowd. It looks good, but for some reason, I just had to keep looking at it & finally it hit me. I have always associated back rest LOOkin stuff with passengers. Ther's no seat for a passenger. Okay, so to me it is kinda visually confusing. Took me a while to figure out why. So, does it LOOK god, yes, it doess. If I saw it goin doiwn the road the overall effect of that bike would be just dandy. I would like it plenty without the bar, too. Now, about that angle. If it was laid back any more it wouldn't look good to me, but what about the top 6 inches or so? Would that do anything GOOd for ya? Well,, Whatever you do, you have a really good lookin Zuki there. Have fun & be careful.. two seemingly mutually exclusive terms if ever there were any.

I think it looks great. justin_o_guy does make a good point about the lack of a passenger seat. Without anything it looks like a bobber/chopper hybrid. Put one of those tiny little passenger pads on and it will look just right. The angle looks just fine to me :)

It handle just like stock but u turns are a little different, hands off handlebars and it tracks straight as stock!

I like it a lot. Definitely a nice chopper. I kinda like Justin_o_guys idea of maybe bending the top 6" back with the angle of the forks. That'd look pretty good. I wouldn't bend the whole thing back, it'd stick out way too much. Overall, I like it a lot. Great looking bike.

I sure like it. Bending to top few inches might improve it too. Live savage_rob said, on the practical side, it would be a nice support for bags or other luggage.

Don't carry much on this bike thats why I got the ACE 750, this is my going to work bike, I might leave it on still not sure, it cost me nothing so it doesn't matter.

On topic first: Yup, I like the sissy bar. The dissimilar angles between the front and back doesn't even bother me.  But then I liked a tall sissy bar on my bicycle back in the 60s! ;)

About your front end... Yours is a frame cut and not an aftermarket tree kit?

I asked my daughter what she thot about the top few inches bend idea, she said" Would look like yer tryin too hard, leave it alone". I think I agree. The rear shot looks juuust fine. The bike looks good any way I look at it.

The first shot from the right front (on my puter) kinda looks like the sissy bar is made of twisted steel. The last shot allows me to see it's steel tube. I wouldn't bend that..

Front end is a Seeger cycle kit. 8" over tripletree comes raked.

I really like the sissy bar and the chopped look, but I'd like to know some info on the white paint you used. I'm thinking of painting mine white with black graphics, and I don't know much about choosing paint, pearl, flat, metallic, clear coats etc. can you help me out, I love the white that is on your bike, it looks bright.
                                     thanks, fingers.

This company sells exact color match paints and clear coats.  They perfectly matched my 2000 Green Savage for my fender job, and I can attest to the quality.  It is excellent.  Shipping is fast too.

The only problem is that I can't find a simple color chart to pick colors.  It's kinda like if you know a bike with a white paint that you like, then you can look it up that way.

Now that would be a new idea.  Don't think I've seen a 1 to 2 pipe on a Savage yet.  Stereo Thump!

Yeah, that cat-eye tail light under the fender is pretty sharp looking, but I wonder if it can be seen from the side as a running light?
