Title: A work in progress
Post by SeeAPierce on 12/23/06 at 11:10:34

Still need:
Paint.
Black header wrap - ready in the garage.
Rework rear fender location a bit more.
Rework electrical a bit more.
KnN filter instead of paper.

But I thought I'd share some in-progress stuff...

Took these today - very nice day here in Sunny S0-Cal

Fender is a trailer fender bought off ebay and cut to fit.

Seat is about as comfortable as the '06 stock one was I guess.  Only done about an hour at a time so far and feels pretty good...

Nice work! Love the seat, fender & tail light!

BTW, my father-in-law lives in So-Cal ... Fontana to be exact ... and ironically, he used to live in Covina!

Wish I were there now, so's I could take a nice Christmas Eve Ride!

Thank you for sharing your photos.  A couple of questions?  How did you set up your side draft for the air cleaner? Do you have close up photos of your carb set up?  Where did you relocated the electricals?

Source for your parts etc.

Happy Holidays

The source for all my parts is the local hardware store and the local auto parts store...

I kept the stock rubber tube coming from the carb that would end in the airbox (to clear the battery) and coupled two 90 degree PVC couplers.  One to sweep down to clear the frame and the other to sweep out to the side.  There I attached a 4" open air filter from the auto parts store.  I had enough clamps and rubber sleeves lying around to make it all work okay...I think I'll still be tweaking it for a while.

Electrics were a pain...still not happy, but I attached a steel plate with hose clamps to the frame to attach the starter realy and ignitor.  The regulator/rectifier is attached under the seat between the frame and rear fender.  This needs to change...

I can send you some pics over email if you'd like...
