Title: Valve to Rocker arm clearance Post by geo on 12/21/06 at 21:57:36 Have you ever observed the valve lash to decrease between adjustments? It would seem the lash should always increase between adjustments.

Title: Re: Valve to Rocker arm clearance Post by azjay on 12/22/06 at 06:48:38 air cooled vws decrease clearance(get tight) often as well, i suspect it to be the valve burning into the valve seat, and the valve seat pulling into the head, but i've never done a before and after diagnosis/comparison to confirm.

Now wether or not the service tech set them too tight at the dealership or they tightened themselves I have no idea. I couldn't even get the .003" feeler guage in there to start with.
