Title: Replacement horn suggestions Post by bholly12 on 12/19/06 at 12:41:47 Any suggestions about a good stock horn replacement? I was thinking about this one, but I'm not sure about how weather resistant it is: JC Whitney Horn (http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Product/tf-Browse/s-10101/Pr-p_Product.CATENTRY_ID:2009013/p-2009013/N-111+10201+600015247/c-10101) |

Yup, I picked mine up at Harbor Freight and it's a heck of a lot louder than the stock. |
Title: Re: Replacement horn suggestions Post by Paladin on 12/19/06 at 21:44:37 http://savage.andruschak.net/Paladin/Horns.jpg I removed the side reflectors and mounted a pair, high-tone/low-tone, 138db car horns. Routed the stock horn connection to a horn relay to feed the horns on 12 gauge wires from the battery. Found the horns at Kragen Auto Parts. Started with the high tone about 18 months ago, added the low tone about six months later. They claim to be 138db. I don't use them often, but when I do -- people do notice. I ridden in the rain, horns are holding up just fine. |
