Title: Re: Photoshop of my bike as a green bobber Post by Paladin on 12/09/06 at 12:29:13 I'd go with a sprung solo seat, and low, maybe 10", apehangers. Other than that, the Savage makes a very nice bobber. Since the purpose of bobbing is weight reduction, starting with the Savage's already low weight makes it, IMO, the best bobber. |
Title: Re: Photoshop of my bike as a green bobber Post by Savage Librarian on 12/09/06 at 12:59:14 Gotta love how that engine looks in a bobber. And I always loved green bikes. Maybe lose the front fender and heat wrap the pipe? |
Title: Re: Photoshop of my bike as a green bobber Post by cFLOW on 12/09/06 at 15:54:24 looks great. Drop the front fender the seat looks fine. keep it low drag bars always look good on savages of that nature. I'm almost finished my bobber. heres a pic of mine fenderless al the way. http://w2.bikepics.com/pics/2006%5C12%5C07%5Cbikepics-741231-full.jpg |
Title: Re: Photoshop of my bike as a green bobber Post by serowbot on 12/09/06 at 17:29:29 Cflow, The pic's I saw of your bike and Sluggo's were my inspiration. Do your bars hit the tank? Serowbot |
Title: Re: Photoshop of my bike as a green bobber Post by cFLOW on 12/09/06 at 20:27:51 glad we could inspire you, My bars do hit but not that bad ive turned them down more so now they dont before the fork locks out sluggos bars dont hit though because they rise bars, i think. |
Title: Re: Photoshop of my bike as a green bobber Post by sluggo on 12/10/06 at 00:13:09 mine are drag bars using the stock riser.one more layer of wax and the would hit on a to the stops turn. |
Title: Re: Photoshop of my bike as a green bobber Post by PerrydaSavage on 12/10/06 at 03:11:09 Nice look with the Photoshop! In some circles, green is considered to be a "bad luck" color for motorcycles ... why is this? |

Title: Re: Photoshop of my bike as a green bobber Post by serowbot on 12/10/06 at 10:38:19 Green is unlucky for American race cars, because the first double race car death was caused by a green car. So I have read. British Racing Green is tradition and may have come from the British trying to one-up the Irish or French, who think it is lucky. Anybody got a bell on their bike? Wards away road-gremlins. These buggers will loosen bolts, discharge batteries, cause flats, and foul plugs, etc, if you don't do stop them. The bell must be given as a gift to have real power. Potholes in roads are caused by gremlins falling off bikes after being driven crazy by the bell's constant ring. Tradition comes from WWII pilots, trying to keep their planes in the air. I seem to be liking the bobber look more and more. |
