Can anyone tell me if the new S40 engines are the same as the Savage engines?  Also, has there been a problem with oil not getting to the cam shaft on the 240 engine (can shaft seizing)?  Thanks.

Welcome to the forum. To my knowledge there is no differences in the engines. The "new" bikes I have looked at down at the dealership are different in cosmetics only. As far as the oil issues I would suggest a search of the site. Is the oiling problem on an older bike or a new one? The only Cam issues I know of are on higher mile bikes and they tend to be tensioner issues due to the mileage resulting in cam chain failures. Insufficient oil doesn't seem to be the problem.

For future reference, your questions will be answered quicker and by more people if they are posted in the "rubber side down" section. It is the main section for posting Savage related material. We normally use this section for chit-chat and off subject time killers.
