My brother painted it by hand...This was my first bike..he told me "if you get a savage, I will chopp it up for you"and he did..he had the bike for 5 months.. |

A pal of mine will be painting an old '87 LS this winter (picked it up for his wife) ... and as I've been going on (and on LOL!) about flat black with red/white accents Bobber paint jobs ... well, he may now be interested ... mind if I show him your pics? I know in my case, being a short person, I sit closer to the front of the bike, and often have my knees hugging the gas tank, so that would be an issue for me. Yet, "whatever floats your boat" as they say. Being able to customize these bikes is great!!!! My bike is still faily stock looking, but I'm a newby and am just thrilled to be riding a bike, and loving it. I do love to watch "Amercian Chopper" on tv though - it's amazing what ideas they come up with. |

I recently chopped/bobbed/moded my bike with a trailer fender, airbox removal, spring seat, etc. I found the hardest thing was re-locating the electrics. I still have to finish the struts for mine and make the front seat/rear tank combo mount, and make the spring mounts for the seat. Working at a bike graveyard helps...and so does having unlimited new parts access and getting freebies from a local traditional custom shop.
