What did you use for the 90 degree manifold?  I have been considering having some made for the carb kits.

By the way, very nice graphics.  Did you do them?

this bike is 75% hand made...its from bent pipe also..if you can see it has weld marks at both ends... My brother painted it by hand...This was my first bike..he told me "if you get a savage, I will chopp it up for you"and he did..he had the bike for 5 months..

Your Bike is absolutely beautiful man! A well done Bobber beats any of those bling bling Custom Choppers every time IMHO!
A pal of mine will be painting an old '87 LS this winter (picked it up for his wife) ... and as I've been going on (and on LOL!) about flat black with red/white accents Bobber paint jobs ... well, he may now be interested ... mind if I show him your pics?
Thanks! Great Job!

Nice job!

Hope its not a dumb question but how do you ride with the air filter stack pretty much where your right knee should be?

Ah, according to the Belt removal thread you just sticks your leg out.  So, comfort's not a priority then.

Cool looking bike, nice work.I went w a solo seat also, but not hardtailed.I lopped off the frame horns and made brackets to mount hairpin springs, then mounted a chopped harley fender to the singarm.I'm about half way done and I havent had the time to finish it

I love it! this is why I'll keep my S40 forever. Its a ball to customize these things!

I was wondering if the filters and such would be in the way of your knee as well.  I know in my case, being a short person, I sit closer to the front of the bike, and often have my knees hugging the gas tank, so that would be an issue for me.

Yet, "whatever floats your boat" as they say.  Being able to customize these bikes is great!!!!  My bike is still faily stock looking, but I'm a newby and am just thrilled to be riding a bike, and loving it.  I do love to watch "Amercian Chopper" on tv though - it's amazing what ideas they come up with.

all you got to do is stick your leg out when you ride it...its not that bad...

How did you deal with all the electrics?  I recently chopped/bobbed/moded my bike with a trailer fender, airbox removal, spring seat, etc.  I found the hardest thing was re-locating the electrics.  Any close-up pics of the carb and electrics?

Hey I just noticed - is that a fuel level tube on the side of the tank?  I had drawn up sketches to do that, but never had the guts to drill into my tank...

THAT is very cool!

the tank is from an old sportster..the hole for the bung was welded closed...but if you know how to weld ,all you do it drill the spot you want your bung to come out of and weld it together....im trying to get more pics...so just hang in there with me...

Nice bike.

I still have to finish the struts for mine and make the front seat/rear tank combo mount, and make the spring mounts for the seat.

Working at a bike graveyard helps...and so does having unlimited new parts access and getting freebies from a local traditional custom shop.

Oh, apes MAKE the Savage come to life...

Don't forget to pin them, they WILL move if you don't...

-WI've been custom building waaaay too longD

One of these days I'll get around to finishing the bike...I hope...
