How much smoke?

On the PMS screw, 1 turn out min, otherwise, go down a size on the pilot.

small puff? at 1/4 throttle?  the pilot system usually controls the bike up to 1/4 throttle.  After that your getting into needle issues.  So start fooling w/ the idle circuit.  If the results aren't what you are looking for, then go into the needle height.  I tend to think 1/2 the white spacer is too thin, but a lot of folks do like it...  Without a free flowing muffler, even w/ the KN drop in, I'll bet the 1/2 spacer is too thin.  If you shaved it, you can go to the hardware store and buy some # 3 or 4 (maybe #2?) washers that you can effectively replace the spacer w/.  Are you near sea level?

If it happens when rolling off the throttle it's probably your slow mixture screw. Start screwing it in 1/8 or 1/4 turn at a time and see if it helps.

What's the elevation where you live?

I live around boston.  Sea Level .  i think the 1/2 spacer is the culprit. Will try 2/3-3/4 spacer tomorrow

White space mod was the prob the washers i used are too wide #3 if any one wants to know. they didn't slide into the spring shaft.  :(   I'm filing down the white spacer a little at a time for now.
New Question.   Now i'm getting a light whitish blueish Smoke after rolling off the throttle is that a sign of still being to rich?
Added Note: The smoke does smell like unburnt fuel, I'll try to lean out the Idle screw a little

I Do add Lucas fuel treatment to the gas could i have put too much. the smoke is really lite only after a rolloff. unless I twist the throttle a couple of times then its a little more pronounced.

Black smoke is rich jetting. Blue smoke is burning oil. White smoke is water (either from blown headgasket or moisture in the exhaust).

Too much gas additive isn't a good thing. I really avoid additives unless I can see a definate problem. I've used SeaFoam with success on a sticky carb.

The New smoke is due to bad gas  from a Hess Station this new 10% Ethanol likes moisture. Hence small amount of whitish smoke.
