Just put dunlop 404's on my bike and went with the /90 on the rear to raise the gearing a little.
It's pretty tight in the fender! Anybody had any clearance problem's with this tire?
It's not a big tire as tires go today, but it looks huge on this bike! I love the look. Hope it's o.k.

The 404 is fat for a 140/90. I had to cut, raise, and grind for mine to stop rubbing. It also wears fast as well, so it is not a great choice.

I went with that size on the Dunlop 491. The only rubbing was if the saddlebag supports were installed. I changed the mounting bolts to allen mushroom-head bolts and set the shocks to their highest preset and it stopped. Now that I have 12.5" Progressive shocks installed, it's definitely a non-issue because I have all kinds of clearance even with the shocks at their lowest preset.

I have a D404 140-90/15 on the rear of Thumper. Put it on 22 months and 7,500 miles ago. Have enough clearance that I could remove/replace the side rails with the bike on the kickstand. No gouges from anything rubbing. The 7,500 miles is with rather agressive acceleration and engine braking and the tread is thin in the center. (Forget Lincoln's head, the rim of the penny is visible!) Another 1,000 miles and I should be seeing cords.
