hey mick..
see if this helps .. API ( american petroleum institute) classification  SF, SG, SH, SJ, or JASO class MA (japanese automobile standards organization) are whats recommended for the ls 650  auto oils have different class ratings these are found on the back of the bottle in a circle..ive see one syn. auto motor oil with a SJ class..some  auto oils are "energy conserving"
rated these will not let your clutch operate properly and should be avoided..tho theres a post bangin round this site bout someone using banannas?? as a cycle lube when they were stranded!!
