Title: Home made side covers Post by theikeman on 08/04/06 at 20:46:33 Has anyone tried, or heard of making custom side covers for the LS650. They are pretty da**n expensive otherwise, especiall the left side it seems. Thanks Ike |

Title: Re: Home made side covers Post by Ed_L. on 08/05/06 at 06:14:06 I've been thinking about making a cover for the starter motor out of aluminium. It would be purely cosmetic, just to cover it. I played around with bending a different side cover for the right side. Was trying to fabricate an air scoop into it and run without the airbox door, didn't like the look. |

Title: Re: Home made side covers Post by zbiker on 08/05/06 at 10:26:40 ;) Should be fairly easy for a diy with fiberglass, making a mould from original in plaster, fine sanded, laying the fiberglass, add the gel, then sanding to perfection, small tube and screws to build the studs covered with resin, add appropriate rubber washer and voila. That`s the way i`ve proceeded when i`ve lost one of mine, borrowed an original from a friend who had the same bike. |
