Title: Speedo Cable Update Post by Mike M on 06/25/06 at 21:08:51 A while back I started a thread about a broken speedo cable.  Thanks to Lancer, I had a replacement in hand within a week.  However, I just got around to installing it tonight.  Just wanted to give a quick update.... The cable indeed snapped about 3 inches from where it goes into the tank end.  Although the tank off/tank on was its usual PITA, installing the cable was simple.  Everything worked fine on the test ride, but I'm no closer to understanding why it snapped at only 6,199 miles.  Perhaps I put a kink in it during previous valve maintenance, or maybe it was just a flawed piece of steel to begin with.
