Ok, so I posted on another thread that i would get some audio from my bike. Well, I did a little better and got some video too! I will list all of the file links here so you can download what you choose. Keep in mind a couple of the larger files may take some time to download. The mods that are done: Cone air intake, windshield with bag, stock sportster muffler, DJ kit.

I like the sportster, that sounds nice. Where did you get it/how much? Id like to see it.

I got it off a guy in town. If you want I have an etra one. It's not pristine condition but it's not dented or anything. I'll get some pics tomorrow. I'm too lazy to do it now. 8)

I also have a modified stock muffler, but it's a little too raspy for me.

Lol! Lawnmower.

Some old fellows stopped me as I came out of a restaurant one time and said "well, we wanna hear what this 'Big Single' sounds like when she fires up!" At the time, of course, I still had the '97 stickers on the tank that said "Big Single" on them. Before I even started it, though, I just said "well, have you ever heard a lawnmower without the blades engaged?"

Fun times!

Glad you put this up. I have two Sportsters mufflers at home, and I was contemplating putting them on...

But before I bought them I took a dremel and bored out the back plate on the stock muffler. It gives a much harsher, throatier sound to the exhaust. The only drawback is it's hella loud.

I'll de-winterize the bike and do some sound clips as well.

I took your recording as an example of a Sportster muffler on a Savage, converted it to MP3, uploaded it to the site and added it to the Savage Sounds (mufflers) thread in the Tech Ref forum.

WOW! That sounds good! Is it very loud? I ended up getting the S.E pipe because it was cheap, but if I find a Sporty Muffler, I think I'll opt for it. Even the stock Sporty Muff leans out the mixture a bit, doesn't it? (Better flow).
I KNOW I don't like the stock putter that's on it. It's not even a matter of sound, it's knowing that the honking single is exhaling through a 1.75" into a muffler with a 5/8" outlet! Sheer Lunacy!

HAHA! Well, I actually have a modified stock muffler (basically 4 holes in baffle) but it's a little raspy. I also have a second stock sporty that I was gonna sell, but the guy hasn't gotten back to me yet. It needs some shining but I need to sell it.
