Title: definitely off centre
Post by docwho on 06/07/06 at 13:47:59

Hi – can anyone help with rear wheel alignment. When you look at the
back of my bike, the wheel is definitely off centre to the fender by a
good ½" to the left. The spacers are right according to the manual,Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There are different methods of aligning the rear wheel but I like to align the rear pulley to the belt, which aligns the wheel. You can put a measuring stick or a straight edge against the pulley, with one end of it running along the belt & see if it's parallel to the belt or if it's a little off, & adjust as needed. Sometimes the spacers can be a little off.

Good trick with the pulley! I know Motion Pro sells a fancy gauge for the purpose, but I wouldn't use it often enough.

My '97 has that problem, too. It makes it difficult to install saddlebag supports, but I've not noticed any other problems.
