Title: WHAT'S THE BEST GEL SEAT FOR 2005 S40 ?
Post by The Newstrums on 04/03/06 at 16:25:17

After my first long-distance freeway trip on my S40, I realize I will be needing a gel seat.  I'm not sure how many different options there are or what the best is, but any information would be greatly appreciated  ???

After I do purchase one, I will be selling my perfect-condition ( barely 500 miles on it ) stock seat, if anyone is interested and can wait til I get the gel replacement.

Thanks,

Sarah

I'm quite satisfied with the Suzuki pillowtop gel seat.  I got mine from http://www.oneidasuzuki.com.

The prices look great, but I'm curious about the difference between the pillowtop and classic version ?

The pillowtop's a bit thicker with buttons in the middle.

The pillowtop is better than the classic out of the two that Suzuki offers. I put the classic Suzuki gel seat on my '02 and still get some monkey butt on long rides. The pillowtop seat has a bit more padding and is thicker than the classic. The classic has a deeper "saddle" shape which prevents you from sliding you butt around on long rides, can't adjust your riding position for comfort. I'm not planning to buy a different seat but if I was to do it all over again I'd go for the pillowtop or something aftermarket. For the price of a new seat from Suzuki you should be able to get the stock one redone with more padding and some gel.
