Title: cam timing Post by clayton on 03/31/06 at 20:24:54 I need help aligning the cam sprocket on my 650, I figured out how to get the piston at TDC but I need to know where to point the mark on the cam. Thanks, Clayton |

Keep the engine at TDC. There's a line enscribed on the camshaft, keep this in line with the head. This should bring the 2 boltholes and the alignment pin in line with the camgear. Position the locking washer and the 2 bolts, tighten up. Turn the crankshaft clockwise ( remember you're looking at the RH side of the engine) 2 full revolutions. Check the alignment of the cam again. Torque the 2 bolts 10 to 11.5 lb-ft, bent the locking tabs over and you're done. Good luck Greetz Kropatchek ;D |
