Keeping the 14 inch apehangers, just rotated them forwards a few inches. Not sure on the mirros yet. Blacking out the exhaust. There WILL be some form of "chick stick", a tool roll, matching paint on the tins. Cheapo headlight, cateye taillight, grilled rear signals (to be replaced by mini signals with red lenses) on old stock Hap Jones side mount headlight bar (modified to work on rear). Keeping a fishtail exhaust, may go back to mufflerless. What do you all think of THIS mock-up versus what I thought of doing? And add dual disc front (the drum is F'd up) or keep the single disc? Might rotate them straight up, gives me a few more inches of stretch in my arms. Take a gander at my avatar, that is the same bike, that is me, my arm is too close to my torso. The brake mod? I might bolt on a complete dual disc front end off an older Kawi KZ four popper. Have a choice of spokes or cast alloys. -WD |

I actually like the look of the apes too but I kinda doubt I'd like the feel. I guess I'll have to try it sometime to find out. Anyway, that's looking really good. |

Solo seat? Maybe... but only with an old Bates pillion or a 45 flattie luggage rack. Vroom, debating an old one piece FL rear fender, no front. I'm going for the 1972ish Brit bike look. Savages ARE a slightly modernized Brit knock-off... -WD |

What color(s)? Too bad your drum is wrecked, or you could forgo the front brake alltogether... on the otehr hand, the transmission can slow you down some... ;) BTW, what is that gas tank off of? I've got a mustang tank I'd love to fit, but, no, not even close... |

It's worth about $300 as it sits, I gave a customer $50 for it... ::) The FL fender in question is a non-hinged version, very 1936-47 Knucklehead-esque. Color? Same as the side panels, candy tangeringe over bronze micro-flake (metallic pearl). Probably a platinum pearl for the frame, maybe some tank scallops to match. If I go with a sprung solo, it would have to be a natural saddle tan leather, I really don't like what vinyl seats do to me bum... :P If I keep the shocks, I've got a fringed and studded black leather solo off an FXR that should bolt right on. Too early to sweat THAT detail. Still in the engineering stage for this thing. Oh, and probably metalflake silver retro grips (bicycle type). As for the currently exposed cables, um, no. I'll order a properly sized set from Lancer when the time comes. -WD |

Why buy Chinese parts when I can score the real deal cheap at work? If i go with the FL rear fender, it will mount on the swingarm. And so will the chick stick. Think Kawi Drifter 1500 if it is shocked, 800 Drifter if strutted... I really dislike the fender to tire gap as it stands now. -WD |

Comfortable, relatively easy conversion (extend a few wires and get longer cables), goes well with the "retro" flavor of even otherwise stock Savages. These bikes have loads of potential.
