Title: saddlebags Post by newguy on 03/13/06 at 06:17:21 Looking to put saddlebags on my bike in the near future but have never owned a set. What do I need to know before purchasing? ie dimensions(to clear the exhaust), brackets, brand, etc. |
Title: Re: saddlebags Post by Capt._Capsize on 03/13/06 at 06:41:26 Most any bag in the small to medium size should work ok. I have had both and no problem. I highly recommend saddle bag supports though. I didn't have them on my first Savage and the bags chafed up the bike pretty bad. I made the set I am using now. It is not hard but requires a bit of ingenuity. |
Title: Re: saddlebags Post by Paladin on 03/13/06 at 08:03:15 I've seen too many sagging leather (or synthetic) soft bags; so I went with hard bags: http://www.dslretorts.com/Paladin/images/leatherlyke1_.jpg When looking for bags you can get bags that fit the stock turn signal location, or larger bags with relocated turn signals. |

Soft versus hard: hard bags cannot be over-stuffed. |
