Title: The K&N came today
Post by 911radioman on 03/08/06 at 13:43:45

Got my K&N replacement filter today along with the recharge kit to keep it maintained.

Looks like it will be a day or two before I get it installed as I'm laying here getting kicked in the a$$ by pneumonia... :(

That's no excuse.  Get out there and install that filter. A couple of screws and a bolt and it's done.

Just kidding.  Hope you get better soon.

Tell me about it!  I'm doing good just to sit here holding my laptop right now though.

Maybe in the morning I'll feel better...  ;) ;D

You'll like that K&N if you have rejetted and added a high flow muffler.

That has been done... take a peek at the signature line. :D

Looks like you're ready for it.

THe K&N seemed to me to increase the torque. Maybe it just sounded like it. :)

Well I got it installed today.  Didn't take it out for a ride because it is raining here and I'm still sick, so the test ride will have to wait for another day...

Now I had two metal brackets (identical) that came with my K&N.  I only used one of them.  Are both of them supposed to be used?

LOL!  A lot of people seem not to get one at all and have to call K&N to get it sent out... me included.  Hang onto it as a spare or maybe help someone else out when theirs is missing.

You just need the one bracket. Since it's not likely that will ever break, you might like to pass that along to someone else.   Like, Savage_Rob, for instance. :)

Not me, I have mine.  I just requested it from K&N back when I got the filter in 2004.  I've read of this happening to several other folks as well but this is the first time I've heard of someone getting two.  To their credit, K&N didn't hesitate or ask me for anything when I requested it - other than a shipping address.  The part arrived a just few days later.

Yea, K&N is a good company. I've never heard of anyone who was dissatisfied with their service.

I'll agree with that when it comes to customer service for sure and am inclined when it comes to manufacturing QC but whoever is supposed to make sure the right parts are in the boxes before they leave the warehouse should be slapped and sterilized.
