It was 71 with low humidty and sunny on the redneck riviera. I had a new bike with no tag or registration. So I did some wrench twisting with the help of a couple of beers.

so, no tags makes the engine not run?   ;)

civil disobedience, a right of a free society.  well that is if you can pay the fine.  :o

That all well and good unles your wife works for the district attorneys office. They seem to frown on spouses who thumb their noses at the law. Trust me I was tempted. Very tempted.

thats why my wife and i are married with seperate names, or something like that.  actually  she took my name, and i then changed mine.  i've been through a few name combinations, it happens in the radio world.  finally got the one i'm sticking with, well for now at least.

bummer dude, get the papers.  8)

well i'm not actually in the radio, my voice comes out of it.  ;D  have never gotten used to walking in a store and my voice, it's like "now the voices are outside my head",

sluggo was my hollywood radio name. i worked in that market almost 15 years, am now doing small town radio, announce at the local speedway, do psa's for the police and fire.

and yes i do have a great radio face.

My wife and I watched a movie called "Oh Brother where art thou?" she said "I think Evert stole your voice and euphemisms." I do however, have the perfect radio face.

i was standing with david crosby at a station in l.a. when an older woman office worker, who knew me, but not him, asks if we are related, he says "no but we're dating'. she walked off in a huff, we laffed our butts off.  then went out and hung out by the dumpster for a while.  :o  (see sluggo's table)

I actually met David Crosby once. But I didn't know who he was when I met him.

I was a freshman in college, in Nashville, TN. Ironically, my major was commercial music. A friend and I went to a small local music store to check out guitars (him), and keyboards (me).  We were in the back looking at stuff, and my buddy looks back at the counter, where a guy was chatting casually with the owner of the store.

My friend goes "Is that David Crosby?" I replied "Who's David Crosby". Marty looked at me like I was an idiot. I figured out later that I WAS an idiot.  ::)

Marty walked up and said hi and said he was a fan. I just smiled (like a clueless idiot). The conversation was brief, and David was very friendly.

And back on track, more or less, talking of getting your papers in order get this for frustrating: Bought the bike after getting my bike licence, then picked up a speeding ticket, not on the bike but in my truck which carried a mandatory one month ban.  That's how it works here in Spain, at 50% over the marked limit you get an automatic ban and I did 96kph through a 60kph junction.  Bad move: 300€ fine - that's about 400$ and a month off the road.  And sat in the garage my new-to-me longed for first bike, The Lettuce.  Add three weeks vacation, also without bike, and I'm off the road for 7 weeks.  Boy did it hurt to have and yet not to have.  Polishing chrome just don't come close to getting out and riding my little beauty.  It hurt, it really did, but the law's the law and temptation was there to be resisted.

You are to be commended, I would likely have had to take at least a short ride.

Well technically its a Spring Ride. But it feels like winter here in Central New York. About 35 degrees out there. Got the battery in, tinkered a little, fired right up. Let it warm a little bit, took it down to the grade school, around the parking lot and back. Not very long just long enough to get it warmed up a bit, and me cooled down too much.

Hopefully it will be warmer soon.

I went out the other day, it was about 40 or so to check on my parents place (they winter over in Florida).  When I was on my way back home, it started snowing.  Go figure... :(

That is very cool!  Sounds like you're enjoying life out of LA - my wife and I keep talking 'bout making the move outta here - but alas, "the mouse" keeps me here...

Sorry for being soooo off topic everyone :-X
