All the bikes I have owned in the past have had a direct link to the brake pedal... Has anyone ever broke a rear brake cable ?? My bike is an 87 and I think about a failed cable on a panic stop... Am I overly concerned ??

I was eyeballing the '95's the other night when hanging the wheel back on there - I sure can't feel anything on the cable frayed - doesn't seem like a failure point
