Depends on who and where.  Here in SoCal there is http://www.otdcyclesports.com/ who just sent me an instant quote:

"Thank You! You are on your way to saving big dollars on your Suzuki 2005 Boulevard S40. Todays price is $4499 OUT THE DOOR, including all applicable taxes, registration, and document fees. "

i bought my 06 s40 1/27/06 the dealer had none in stock
so they bought a red(my color)one from a dealer 60 miles away(i live on the western slope in colorado)
that dealer had installed a sport shied, saddle bag supports(i wanted) head lite and front turn signal visors
(didnt care, but with sport sheild headlite visor keeps down glare im told ,dont like the noise the big visor vibrates at rpms easy fix) ordered saddle bags, back rest, and rear rack(i installed)..so i had to pay dealer install for the visors and sport shield and bag supports.
24 month extended warranty(3 yrs total)..out the door costs as follows......
sales price $5149.50
set up $189.50(i got  taken on this cause two dealers(stealers)were involved!
total sales price with extended warranty and machine sales tax?and filing fee =$ 6025.22       free 1 cheezy key ring and 1/2 gal of 85 octane gas ....LOL!!!!!

payments $99 month for 7 years=$8316...
cost is relative i was smoking a pack a day i quit the week b4 i bought my suzi....$3.60 pack x 30.4 days a month=$109.44

full coverage insurance is $ 280 a year with state farm..would i do anything different??maybe beat on the finance guy a couple of more days!!but there is only one o6 s 40 in town(MINE!)so far...... there is an o5 a guy at auto zone has..there is no other machine (i paid tax on that!) on the road like the s 40..(SAVAGE !!!)every body makes a v twin even suzi..only other single i found here was some new 04 enfields a dealer here had..this bike is a true SQUARE thumper..love mine!!!

Saturday will be the day for me to go for it or not.

My dealer has given me an out the door price over the phone that is reasonable, but if he'll go down about $100 it's a clinched cash deal. Cash in hand!

The $100 is a compromise between my computed price (fair in my opinion) with all selected accessories dealer installed before pick up, and their qouted price for same.

Saturday morning 4 March, 2006 face to face with the dealer; we'll see if I can join this group or still be on the outside looking in.

The bike fits the wife perfectly. She's a driver too and about 5 inches shorter than me.
She's not hoping for a sealed deal though.

You know: If this dealer is tight with their quote on the S40 and will not compromise, the wife has won our bet. And I'll be buying her/us a Yamaha Majesty instead. Price already reduced to $4999. No price negotiations needed.

The super scooters are fascinating machines.  The Yamaha Majesty with a 400 cc liquid cooled FI single and auto trans, good weather protection -- civilized and practical.  BLAH!  But I can see where they would have a strong appeal to some people.  If you have the bike of your choice she should have the bike of her choice, even if you wouldn't want anybody you know spotting you riding it.

Don't have the cash for both.
One or the other at this time.

wow Torque I didnt realize a 883 was that inexpensive.  I wouldnt buy a used one because I would some kind of coverage and ect.   Besides some harley owners think their bikes appreciate insted of depreciate :)

But for now u cant beat NO BIKE PAYMENT with a stick.

My JAWA made me a $150 profit when I sold it in the mid 1970's. I suppose some bikes do appericiate in value. Its always supply and demand

:)  :D

It's a "go."

They ok'd my requested out the door cash price so I ordered the S40 today giving them a small cash deposit.

Should have it fully accessorized and ready for pick up next Saturday. Balance of $$$ due at drive it home time.

I'm happy with the deal and friendly cooperative sales staff.

At the place I work at, Deep Creek Marina, they sell for $3,999. There is a $150 frieght & doc. fee. If you're out of state that's it, of course you'll have to pay taxes and MVA fees and tags in your state. If you're in state you add sales tax and $167 for MVA fees and tags, so in state that's $4517.00 out the door and out of state it's $4150.00 out the door. Now, I'm pretty sure I'm right on these numbers (the MVA fees may be less), if you want, you can go to www.deepcreekmarina.com and check it out.
