I saw these over on eBay and it kinda peaked my curiosity. They would raise the bike up considerably, but I wonder if they would work overall?

Lancer is the only one I know who has put 13.5 and he said he liked them, but he now has 12.5 on. I thought it looked kinda cool personally. I just put some 12" progressives on and the rise does not seem as significant as I expected. That may have something to do with putting a larger tire on at the same time. $50 seems like a decent enough price to experiment with. You will probably have to remove the belt gaurd.

I get a significant rise with my 12.5" Progressives. That photo kinda looks like those are 14" center-to-center. They appear to be in decent condition though, at least as much as anyone can tell from photos.

They will certainly give you a significant rise, and you will have to either remove or modify your belt guard to fit.
I personally liked the rise and it's affect on the bike's steering...made it quicker & more responsive.
The ad says you will need to drill out the mounting holes, and to do that you really should have a vise to hold the shocks or use a drill press (ideally) so that the shock can be secured and the drill maintain a perfectly straight line.
Mine was done with a vise and hand drill, and it took a bit of effort to get done.
**Be sure to use oil as lubricant/coolant during the drilling process and start with a BRAND NEW DRILL BIT. The bushings are made of very hard steel and anything less than new and sharp just won't do.

The quality of the shock is good...better than stock Savage for sure, but not as good as a set of Progressive's.
Going from stock to this shock is one step up. Going from stock to Progressive is like 3 steps up.
Personally, I would spend a few dollars more and get a set of Progressive's. If you are patient and do the low bid thing on ebay you will get a set of Progressives for a good price. It may take a month or two but it will happen.
I got a nearly new set of Progressive 418's for $125 by being patient. I lost on 10 or more auctions before I finally won them. The primary reason for my win was that the end time of the auction was about 2am. There were very few bidders still awake at that time, so I was almost unapposed at the final minutes of the bidding. AND I WAITED UNTIL THE VERY LAST MINUTE TO MAKE MY BEST BID, that way the price was not driven up before hand and after I made my bid the other bidders did not have enough time to make a counter bid before the auction ended.
You must use good strategy when bidding to win the bid, and to do it at a low price.

I've been "sniped" like that on Ebay a couple times :-/, it's the best way to win the auction. Don't bid up too early, wait till under the last minute and give it your best shot ;D

I cut my springs, not a huge fan of the high riders... i know its getto, but havnt seen any adverse affect, other that a rougher ride... how do i download pics? ill show my bike, im a new savage rider...

This is how I roll.... i dont way much, so the lowness dosnt hurt anything, but my tushy...its not gonna be yellow all summer ill show some more pics....tell me what you think

Looks clean without the side rails and sissybar. I think I'm gonna pursue a taller sissybar at some point but that looks very nice.

Im not hating on yellow, yea the springs are choped... yellows just not the look im going for.... but i love the savage. it keeps up allright with my brothers 1200 sporster...
