Title: Re: dual mufflers Post by Ed_L. on 02/20/06 at 15:40:49 That looks good, it will really confuse the V-twin guys. ??? |
Title: Re: dual mufflers Post by vroom1776 on 02/20/06 at 16:12:52 Looks pretty cool. How does it sound? |
Title: Re: dual mufflers Post by cigaro on 02/20/06 at 16:46:21 I think that's a great looking innovation! Cool idea. Particularly with the slash cuts. I wouldn't mind having that look on my Savage. I think you're onto something. Do you get more power? How's the sound? |
Title: Re: dual mufflers Post by mmosel on 02/20/06 at 17:52:08 Very cool! I think it would look cool is the top one was shorter than the bottom... or maybe vice versa? |
Title: Re: dual mufflers Post by USCG Cremeans on 02/20/06 at 18:25:53 im surprised how much i like that, nice job! |
Title: Re: dual mufflers Post by lancer on 02/20/06 at 18:53:10 Got to admit, it is interesting looking, and it would certainly open it up and reduce the backpressure... |
Title: Re: dual mufflers Post by theikeman on 02/20/06 at 20:44:55 Awesome!! Where did you get the Y pipe? Ike |
Title: Re: dual mufflers Post by Jim_R on 02/21/06 at 03:52:53 the y pipe was 14.94 at advanced auto. The muffler reducer was another 2.00. I will have ot make a sound file of it soon. Still kinda loud because these mufflers have a very tiny baffle. |
Title: Re: dual mufflers Post by Curz on 02/21/06 at 17:13:48 Wonder how much (if any) it reduced your max lean angle? or would the peg drag first? |
Title: Re: dual mufflers Post by Jim_R on 02/21/06 at 19:20:29 the peg does. We checked : :o i love forward controls |
Title: Re: dual mufflers Post by mpescatori on 02/22/06 at 14:14:56 Well, guys, get a load of this http://i17.ebayimg.com/05/i/06/39/01/6e_1_b.JPG The muffler is real, and both terminals work I'd like to fit something like that (the bike is a 500cc horizontal single) Maurizio |
Title: Re: dual mufflers Post by Aktlingit on 02/24/06 at 09:18:02 The green bike shown looks like a 1972 Moto Guzzi Nuovo Falcone. Another one lunger that has dual exhaust is the Daelim Daystar which also has a larger gas tank. I don't think that these are sold in the U.S. What are the measurements of the Y pipe used on the photos posted? Was any additional mounting bracket used to support the dual mufflers? |
Title: Re: dual mufflers Post by Jim_R on 02/24/06 at 14:03:39 Im sorry but I dont have the measurements and Im not removing my heat shield to get em either. SO NAH! Anyway it was a dual muffler tip with flared tips. We hacked off the tips with a grinder and Torque welded them to the mufflers. Im sorry that i dont have any measurement info for ya. Do what I do. Take the muffler with ya and see if it fits in the store. Always worked for me :) now if I only could figure out how to make a "safe" flamethrower... Any takers? Do i just need a coil, switch, and plug? |
