As promised here some pictures of the progress:

HD FXS ( what ever that means) muffler; having difficulties to locate a muffler shop for making the adapter pipe for me. Is'nt it beautifull?

That taillight's kinda cool... almost invisible when unlit.  I've seen some of those with "split" sections, allowing one side to flash while the other remains steady.  They function as taillight/brakelight/turn signals.

It is looking kind of naked there, all by itself.

By the way, I really like the back of the fender/tail light treatment.    ;)

If that muffler is the same as a FXD the original size from 2000 RAASK pipe with the end cut off past the spot weld (about a foot), will slip over the muffler inlet and the inner tube (on the RAASK) will fit between the inner and outer muffler tube. Worked for me.

Will keep the airbox and covers for the moment. In fact I have'nt touched the engine at all. Don't even know what seize jets are in, will see later.

I like that except for the ox-eye signals.  I've heard the hagon shocks are excellent.

Bit expensive to sawn up a Raask pipe. Any other suggestions?

Hagon shocks are a frequent upgrade for Classics restorers and very highly thought of in that world.  They would  be my choice if I had the readies to spend on a suspension upgrade.

You can buy direct from the factory in Essex UK.  Prices have been stable for a couple of years, unlike exchange rates.  Prices quoted on their web-site are in GB pounds, so across the pond apply the rate of 1GBP = 1.755US$ (XE.com mid-rate today).  Web site worth a visit. See

www.hagon-shocks.co.uk

I see Kropatchek has chosen the shrouded shocks which is a nice touch, Henk.

Title: Work in Progress - Almost finished
Post by Kropatchek on 04/03/06 at 06:37:41

Here's some update. The work is almost finished. Just have to install a nice guard for the ugly welding job for the FSX damper.

RH Side (no close-up because of the damper weld)

Close-up quarter front view. Note the deletion of OEM blinkers. superbrace, fw controls and tube in between

How to close 4 BIG holes in the rearfender without welding??

Here it was all done. Behind my buddy's HD

wait i change my answer.  those front flashers match the back.  I was just concerned about how visible the front turn signals are.  They do look good and I think it is a kewl idea..

way to go and keep up the good work.

Started with the idea of NO rear flashers. Then I got the S40 fenderstruts ( Thanks Gary).
If I left the flashers off I would have been stuck with 2 big holes and no  cases of the correct diameter.
Hence the "bullet style" rear flashers.
