I noticed when ordering some parts that there are different model savages,and not ever site is the same. biker bandit has ls650fh and an ls650ph and some list different models. so how do I know what model I have when ordering parts? ??? thanks

The F is flat handlebars and the P is pullback handlebars.  The second letter is indicative of the year.  Mine is a 98 with pullback handlebars and is an LS650PW.  The K1, K2, K3, etc. are 2001, 2002, 2003, etc.

For the record:

You can go to:

http://www.ronayers.com/index.cfm

and select "OEM Parts."  Drill down and you can find the model number of any year Savage or S40.

Yeah, mine is an LS650PK3 ... an '03 with pull-back bars.
