Title: Foot pegs
Post by FlyingJLady on 11/17/05 at 12:42:49

I have a 2004 Suzuki Savage 650 that I purchased from a private party. The first owner laid it down and bent the passagenger foot pegs. When I purchased the bike it had a new peg to put on the bike. My question is how to get the old ones off so I can put the new one on? Is there a special tool that I have to use? Any help on this would great.

both pegs(left and right ) are each held on by only one allen screw, which i believe are metric.

there may be a chrome cover on the screw, just pop it off with a pocket knife.

The allen head bolts that hold the passenger pegs are screwed in from the INSIDE of the swingarm.  It is a bit of a challenge to get to them without taking the rear wheel off.

Yeek, sounds like a tough job. Thats probally why the previous owner didn't put it on. I guess thats something my husband and I'll have to decide on.
